How Far Will You Travel for a Training Session?
Across six counties, from Woodland in the west to Placerville in the east and Yuba City in the north. Value Dog Training is a mobile service, so there is no facility for you to drive to and no catchment area drawn around a storefront. If you are within the Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, Sutter, or Nevada County lines, the answer is almost certainly yes. Does In-Home Training Differ by Neighborhood?
Yes, and that is the argument for training in your home rather than a classroom. The distractions your dog has to work through are the ones outside your own front door, and they are not the same across this region.
- Dense city and suburban streets — Sacramento, Natomas, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova. Close-quarters leash work, door manners, delivery drivers, fence-line reactivity, and dogs passing on narrow sidewalks.
- Newer master-planned suburbs — Elk Grove, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, El Dorado Hills. Busy parks and trails, heavy foot traffic, and lots of young dogs meeting each other at close range.
- Large-lot and rural properties — Granite Bay, Rancho Murieta, Penn Valley, Grass Valley. Recall over distance, boundary work, livestock and wildlife distractions, and off-leash reliability that actually holds up outdoors.
- College and bike towns — Davis, Woodland. Greenbelts, constant cyclists, and dogs that need to be neutral around fast-moving traffic.
Is There a Travel Fee?
No. The package prices on the training packages page are what you pay, anywhere in the service area. Sessions run 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, seven days a week, and are scheduled around your availability — typically one per week so you have time to practice in between. Before your first session, read how to prepare so you have the right collar and leash ready.
